Emma Bailey

18-year-old Emma has been singing as long as she can remember.
Her singing career really started when at the age of 13 she was
offered the chance to sing during country singer Katy Benko’s
concert for the local Optimists club. Meeting Katy was a pivotal
moment for Emma. Shortly afterwards, Emma started having voice
lessons with Katy, and she’s never looked back!

Emma soon started singing with local rock and blues bands,
and for several years played numerous fund raising and charity
events in the DC area before branching out on her own. Singing
and making guest appearances with several local bands, including
SRO, The Mike Devlin Band, Second Wind, singing backing vocals in
Katy Benko’s band, or opening for MaryAnn Redmond.

Since having voice lessons with Katy Benko, and more recently with
award winning vocalist Mary Ann Redmond, Emma has stepped out in her
own right, and gained a loyal local following.

Although she has a love of modern country music, with artists like
Sugarland and LeAnn Rimes among her favorites, Emma she sings songs
across many genres and is a great fan of Bonnie Raitt. Her current
set lists might include songs from Sugarland, and LeAnn, KT Tunstall
and Pink , but will also include people like Bon Jovi and (maybe
surprisingly) Whitesnake, all done in her own inimitable style.
But while the crowds like the cover songs, the loudest requests
come for her original songs. 2007 saw the first ever Emma Bailey
CD a 5 track collection of all original songs Demos And Doodles,
with plans for a new CD coming soon.

Whether as a regular performer at Jammin Java in Vienna, an acoustic
duo, or with a full band rocking the big stage,
look out for Emma singing at a place near you soon.
